I am almost graduated from college.
Almost.
Due to a lack of foresight on my side and some very confusing requirements on the side of the school, I am deficient one 1 ONE course credit from graduation. So, I will take my letters credit and officially graduate in June. However, all of the graduation celebrations are happening now, including me getting to walk next week with all of my friends graduating in April.
I am actually rather excited about this "extended graduation" of mine, because it means I get to celebrate for that much longer!
And last night marked the beginning of the celebrations: the annual Theater and Media Arts award ceremony/celebration.
First things first--I have to show you the outfit for the night. Dressing up for celebrations is one of the most exciting parts. It is such a treat to go shopping with Katie. She helped me pick out this dress-shirt that I was thinking might be too bold. But I love it!
I even tried the fancy heels with jeans look--fantastic. Here's a better look at the shoes:
The party was so much fun. Just great to be back with my school buddies!
My friend Christian was the MC:
Two of my favorite professors--Rodger Sorensen and Amy Jensen--announcing awards. |
So nice of Robert to come with me! |
My co-student teacher Mrs. Banks, blowing up a balloon to write one of the projects she worked on. There were balloons everywhere! |
Theater Ed buddies |
We even had an "old couple" come to the ceremony, trying to find a play :-) |
Directing winner, and Theater Education winners with Rodger |
Student teaching....this is what happens to you... |
Stage Door winning actors! |
With every good celebration comes food! |
And great news about the whole night...I won an award! I was so excited. I was awarded an Award for Service to Theater Education--two of us graduating seniors from Theater Education received it. Best part of the award? The $500 that came with it. That makes up for not being able to work hardly any hours this semester!
Thanks, Theater Education!!! Let the celebrations continue.
You look fabulous, my dear! I remember that awards ceremony MANY years ago (I got the directing award, which was fun..). Congrats on your much-deserved award. Always fun to have $$$ attached. Have fun walking the walk at graduation:)
