Act 2; Scene 40: Feeling Brave Enough for Another Photo

Are you ready for this? I've decided that I actually DO want a near-the-beginning-of-the-3rd-trimester photo to be documented. So here it is. Forgive the wet shower hair.

Me at 30 weeks. Getting...closer...

Act 2; Scene 39: The Temple and Things

Spring time is in the air around here, and we couldn't resist a trip to Temple Square to take in the beautiful spring flowers. Last Sunday Robert and I drove up to see Music and the Spoken Word with the Tabernacle Choir. We left early so that we could enjoy some morning spring flora and fauna. Here is some of what we saw:

The Capitol building

Somewhere over the Great Salt Lake it was raining!

It is always so peaceful on Temple Square. And the spring flowers make it smell so nice! The choir concert was lovely as well. It happened to be the final concert for about 25 choir members, and it was fun to see all of the people there to celebrate. Even President Monson came to see them off.

The choir sang "When You Wish Upon a Star" with light projections of stars in the background

In the tabernacle

What a wonderful way to celebrate spring. I think this will be a yearly tradition for us.

Act 2; Scene 38: An Explanation for Lack of Posts and a Teaser for Things To Come

I have been very busy lately working on two big projects:

Project #1
I am working with Center Stage Youth Performers, and our big spring musical goes up April 24th-28th. It's exciting to watch 85 kids onstage almost the whole show, and it's coming together so well! We're very excited. Here are a few production photos of some of the leads:

Project #2

Little Mr. Center

These two giant projects have been keeping me very busy and rather exhausted, so I have fallen behind in blog posting. But! There are still many adventures happening around here to report on. Namely, our recent trip to Moab.

This is a picture Robert took of me trying to scramble down one of the rock sides with my belly holding me back from "normal" rock scrambling. I think it's pretty funny.

One of these days I'll post some more about our fun trip, and when the show is over some other updates on life. But for now, we'll leave it at this--it's definitely time for a nap :-)

Act 2; Scene 37: Spring Craftiness + Easter + Sweet Tooth =

I saw these on Pinterest and decided I wanted to try them out for an Easter treat. They turned out great!

Easter bird nests--and all edible!

If you want to try it, here's what you need:

2 cans La Choy chow mein noodles
1 bag large marshmallows
2 Tb butter
(I added some coconut that I dyed green as well)
Cadbury mini eggs
Peeps

Here's what you do:

Melt the butter, then add the marshmallows and melt them, just like rice crispy treats. Then mix in the noodles and the coconut. Before they cool too much, start shaping them into nests, and place them on a tray lined with wax paper. Make sure to have some cooking spray or butter to put on your hands--I literally had to spray my hands almost every nest that I shaped to keep it from all sticking and becoming a mess on my fingers. After they're shaped, stick on a peep and some eggs, then let cool completely. And there you have it!

I gave some out to a few neighbors like this:

A tasty, darling Easter treat!
